The lake is 25,600 acres with 525 miles of beautiful shoreline. Fishing is excellent all year round for bass, hybrid bass and crappie. Park and recreational facilities are numerous on the lake, providing both day use and camping areas for visitors. the lake is operated by the U.S. Corps Of Engineers. Located in West Central Georgia on the Georgia-Alabama line, West point lake is centrally located between Atlanta and 50 miles north of Columbus. LaGrange, Georgia is the closest small city with a population of 25,000 people. Nearby attractions include Callaway Gardens, the Little White house, Benjamin Harvey Hill Home, and LaGrange College. The West Point Lake Dam Recreational Area is also a major attraction.
